Beyond the Frame addresses and proposes further enquiry into how cultural institutions utilise technological methods to engage visitors beyond object-centred experiences, transcending the physical boundaries of a display.
To bring the contexts and themes of the text into design features, I developed a visual system inspired by the rising debate between physical vs. virtual environments. To translate this, I created a transparent case which protects the book, designed the dimensions of the book to be the same as a Kindle, utilised sans serif and serif typefaces, arrow icons, info icons, and chapter tabs inspired by ‘tabs’ you come across on search engines.
